Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear Solid series and director of Kojima Productions, talked about how Grand Theft Auto 5 by Rockstar Games has made him “depressed again,” in a recent interview with CVG. When asked about the open world nature of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Kojima replied, “What Rockstar has created and the world they have created is super impressive, when I saw the PS4 version I got depressed again.” He went on to say, “And this is not game design-related it’s just me. The quality that they showed in the PS4 trailer was really impressive.”
When Mr. Kojima uses “depressed again,” he refers to the last time GTA V depressed him and he took to his twitter account to talk about it.
