Play Station Vita has another exclusive game in the rack nowadays; The Amazing Spiderman. I felt a great need of discussing this game as a lot of viewers have asked for a detailed review of the game. The game is surely a treat in various ways. The storyline of the game is exactly the same like of the movie. The protagonist Peter Parker aka Spiderman continues to fight the evils Oscorp, The Lizard (Connors) and Gwen Stacy.
The epic game starts with a journey to the New York City in quest of saving the people. The scenario is that a dangerous infection has broken out in the area resulting in converting the people in to beasts. It would be more accurate to say Mutants. Spiderman is immune to the infection, as it is the same one with the character being infected by. The mission is to save as much humans as possible. The plot sounds to be a boring one, however the game play is absolutely superb and mind blowing.
Spiderman has to fight all the hybrids or the mutants. Many of them are much powerful same like the antagonists, so you must not take them easy. At this moment the story turns out to be boring as the fight continues without a break. This isn’t something like millions of hybrids, drones or minions rushing on the streets but a smooth game play with exciting moves. In the outbreak, there are some allies too which help you on different positions. You must play the game in order to know them. I suppose the developers have included a lot of villains in the game but one of them is real special. I will not spoil your game by telling you the name.
Overall the story of the game is quite well developed and designed. Some levels need XP to be cleared while others allow you to upgrade super moves. The physics are spectacular which definitely will make you love the game. The web throwing and zipping moves are spot on and pretty much player friendly. In fact the best addition to this sequel of the game is the up gradation of some super moves of the Spiderman like infused webzip and many others. The game gets tough in case of a combined attack by the foes, as there remain less moves and techniques for a player to use. There are some devastating power attack moves but one needs to master them first before applying them.
On completion of some levels and missions, there are some anticipated perks for the players. The one I want to tell you about, is Spiderman outfits. There are several cool-looking outfits for the Spiderman; specifically the one in white and black is super attractive. The suits have no special advantages in the game except a change outlook of the character.
Once you will complete all stages of the game, you will be allowed to select the weather and time of the day of your choice. It’s more like a liberty after getting done with the main storyline levels. You can choose night, dusk, dawn, sunset and many others; however do remember that the navigation of the city also changes with the weather and time. The feature is cool but actually of no use as the enemy remains the same.
Now let’s talk about the graphics. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that in terms of graphics, The Amazing Spiderman is a mixed bag. Perhaps the biggest flaw of the game is the frame dropping. I think the developers set the graphics for a standard Play Station 2. It’s difficult to see things at some distance in the game. This doesn’t mean that the game is ugly, but as compared to other PS Vita games, the graphics aren’t promising.
The audio and sounds of the game are perfect and overcome the video loops. The sounds are timely, clear and perfectly placed according to the situations. The characters are very well aligned with the voices and sounds. Unlike other games, the characters seem to be pronouncing the same words as heard in the voice over. Thank God! They paid some heed towards this issue. The level and stage loading time is of 30seconds which is irritating. Approximately, it will take you 10hours to clear all stages of the main storyline of the game. The PlayStation 3 version of the game isn’t really up to the mark as the game play is really boring and slow.
The game can provide you with a good time passing activity. The storyline isn’t as captivating as the cover of the game depicts. The game needs a lot of graphical fixes. The developers of the game haven’t addressed the bugs and problems yet. If you are Spiderman fan, the game is a “Must Play”. Play Station Vita supports the graphics and game play of The Amazing Spiderman in a pretty good manner. In case the issues are addressed, the game will be a masterpiece as it already has a monolithic fans base. Open world action and adventure is something that can’t be compromised, so going for it would be great.
The hiccups in the game are not of very serious nature as they don’t disturb the game play at all. But the gamers of Xbox 360 and Play Station 3 can get disappointed by the graphics of the game, as I have already mentioned above. The screenshots of the game along with the trailer on search engines are somewhat majestic and enough fascinating for the fans to try the game. My barometer for games would recommend this game as a fair bargain.
