[dropcap size=dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter many Xbox One users reported grinding sounds made by their consoles’ Blu-Ray drives or even Blu-Ray drives that were not working at all, Microsoft officials finally acknowledged the problems and issues an official statement. They encouraged the users to immediately ship back the consoles to get them replaced.
However, through an official report published by IGN, Microsoft stated that “The issue is affecting a very small number of Xbox One customers. We’re working directly with those affected to get a replacement console to them as soon as possible through our advance exchange program. Rest assured, we are taking care of our customers.” Consequently, we should not worry as there is just a small amount of user experiencing problems and they are all been taking care of.
In case you are suffering from a severe case of impatience and you do not want to wait until the console reaches Microsoft support, gets repaired and then shipped back to you, there might be another solution to the grinding sound problem.
According to Dave D, a youtube.com user, the Blu-Ray drive can be fixed with your bare hands by just punching the Xbox One console in the right place. Slap it and it shall work, implies Dave! We’ll just wait and see about that. Meanwhile, you may watch the video clip posted on youtube.com and see for yourselves if he was actually successful or not:

Well, whether you are for or against aggression, it seems that in this case, it works. Don’t try it on your own Xbox One though and not on other electronic devices you may have. If you do it, do it at your own risk. I’m sure I wouldn’t have the guts to punch a $500 new console just to check out if it repairs itself or not.
