Excitement is building about the new Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi model, which is proving it could be one of the most popular tablets, after the attention it received at this years Computex expo.
It is going to be the thinnest laptop/tablet hybrid that Asus will ever produced, and as such frequent travelers, and those that need a thin, lightweight laptop will have this laptop on their wish list.
What Do We Know About The Asus T300 Chi
Right now we do know quite a bit. While rumors have been circling for quite some time, some journalists got a hands on look at the Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi in early June, which gave us a whole new perspective on the laptop, and what its abilities are. Transformer Book? Well that term is in reference to the laptops ability to be a tablet or an Ultrabook. The keyboard is removable if you want to enjoy the T300 Chi as a tablet only.
While journalists were only able to touch it briefly, they said that it is fantastic feeling. It is thin, it is light, and it is sleek. It is a genuine rival in size and style to the Macbook Air. In fact, it is thinner, and lighter than the current range of Macbook Airs.
We know it has a QHD+ resolution IPS screen, and that it has 4G LTE support so it looks like it is going to be ideal for people who need to be connected on the move.
We know that there aren’t many ports available, so it might not be the best laptop for those people who need to have a lot of things connected all the time, as it looks to sport only one mirco usb port. Which will require an adaptor to the standard size usb port. ASUS have not confirmed if it going to be a USB 2.o port or the faster USB 3.0 standard, the latter being preferred of course.
Early reports state that it is ideally designed to power Windows 8.1 (which is what it ships with), and that is extremely fast and responsive. Which is exactly what you want from a laptop like this.
We have no information at all on price, but you can expect to be at a similar price point as the Macbook Air, but it might even be a little cheaper.
When Is It Going To Be Released?
Asus have been very cagey about the ASUS T300 chi release date. But we do know that it will be out this year, in all likelihood in late 2014. Hopefully, a release date will become clear soon.
