There is a great hype regarding Mass Effect 4 whose release date hasn’t yet been confirmed by its developers, Bioware. While its date of release is unconfirmed as yet, it is likely that the game will be launched for the PS4 and Xbox One. It would also be released for the PC. Bioware has stated that there will be some great new characters in Mass Effect 4. There will be new challenges, new enemies and new worlds to explore.
Mac Walters, the writer of Mass Effect, noted that Mass Effect 4 will not directly relate to the current game trilogy.
It will, in other words, mean that Mass Effect 3 may well be the end of Shepard as he / she is known to the players. In all probability, the new Mass Effect will be set in a new universe. The game will definitely be Mass Effect only without Shepard and his companions.
Bioware has confirmed that the game is in production in its studios in Montreal where the team is reportedly creating the new Mass Effect world. From the reports coming out of the studio, it is apparent that the game will be the new thing. It will have all the things that the users have come to know with their experience with Mass Effect trilogy, however, there will also be an opportunity to start something new and fresh. There will also be an opportunity to explore the novel universe of Mass Effect 4. Mass Effect 4 will be using the Frostbite Engine.
The new version of the game may feature a character from the existing trilogy. Players could use a loyal friend of Shepard. These secondary characters can make a great storyline for Mass Effect 4.
The Mass Effect 4 could also be a prequel to the existing trilogy. Games like the Batman Arkham and Tomb Raider reboot have proved beyond doubt that players love prequels. The ME timeline has so many happenings that had great impact on the original storyline of the trilogy.
The Geth Wars, Krogan Rebellions or the fall of Protheans could become the setting for ME4. In the current trilogy, these events were not covered in detail and were simply mentioned in passing. One of these events could be elaborate further.

Mass Effect 4 could also elucidate about what happened to Shepard after the Mass Effect 3 ending. Shepard’s story was fairly concluded in the several finales of Mass effect 3. They have, however, also started heated arguments over the internet.
Players would be very much interested in finding out what happened to Shepard. They will also be interested in finding out about the universe and the many races.
Players will also get a chance to explore the game from the perspective of an alien. There were many races featured in Mass Effect 3 and the next installment of the game may well use one of these races as its protagonist.
There is also a possibility that Mass Effect 4 will also be featuring space battles, something which was missing in the previous instalment.
