Almost everyone has both a personal mobile, and a business mobile these days. The problem is that carrying around two massive smartphones can be an enormous hassle. What with all the other things that you might have to carry, keys, wallet, and much more, it can be a real problem to have to carry two phones too.
Fortunately Samsung have come with a solution to this problem, a solution that will allow you to have both a work number, and a personal number, but not have to carry two phones. It is called a dual sim phone. The phone has two sim card slots, you can put both of your SIM’s in the one phone, and easily switch between them. Two of the best dual SIM phones that Samsung offer are the Samsung Galaxy S Duos, and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8. But which is better, read on to find out.
Samsung Galaxy S Duos
The big selling point of the Galaxy S Duos is its price. It is one of Samsung’s cheapest smartphones, but it still packs a powerful punch in the specifications department.
It runs on Android Jelly Bean, which isn’t the most up to date version, but is still an impressive piece of software. It comes with a modern design that is based on its bestselling Galaxy range, so you are getting up to date styling. The screen is four inches, and has a resolution of 480×800 pixels, with a pixel density of 233 ppi. Not the best on the market, but more than enough for most people.
In terms of specifications it runs a dual core processor at 1.2 Ghz, this is impressive, and can run most apps without any problem. It has 768MB of RAM, which should be enough for most. The camera is surprisingly good for a phone at this price level. There are two, one main 5 megapixel, and one front facing camera. It doesn’t have the strongest battery, but it should be enough for most peoples daily use.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is the more expensive of the two, and as such offers a more impressive range of features.
This phone runs on Jelly Bean Android too. This is a much bigger phone, as such the design is larger, and very similar to the Galaxy S5. The screen is a massive 5.8 inches, it doesn’t have as good a resolution though, only running at 540 x 960 pixels (190 ppi pixel density). It has a slightly more powerful processor, with a dual core 1.4GHz offering. It has significantly more RAM at 1.5GB, which should allow you to multi-task with ease. The camera is much more impressive too, with an 8 megapixel camera, with auto flash, and many other features. The battery too is more powerful, although this a more power hungry phone.
Which Is Better?
Both of these phones are useful dual SIM phones. Which is better depends on your needs. Clearly the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is much more powerful, and if you are a power user then this would be the choice. But don’t discount the Samsung Galaxy S Duos, for a cheap dual SIM phone, you can certainly accomplish a lot with it.
