It’s been a while since we’ve had a new Star Fox title and this one is sure to be quite unlike its predecessors. Since this game has been a confirmed game for the Wii U platform, you can expect there to be gameplay on the gamepad itself as well as all the action on the big screen. Not only do you get to use the gamepad as a controller, but you also get to see a separate screen with its own contributions to the game as well.
You can expect a lot of flying to be done in this installation of Star Fox. Not only does the gamepad function as your game controller, it also provides a window seat with a view only a captain could have. That’s right, the gamepad’s screen provides the kind of view you would see if you were in a cockpit. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the main television screen also shows this image. The big screen displays a detailed picture from behind the Arwing, in order to give players the full picture of what’s going on in the game. You’re probably wondering how this all works.
Not only do you get to control your aircraft with the gamepad, you also get to use it to target your enemies. Similar to the motion sensors on an XBOX Kinect and various other Wii games, this game will allow you to steer with the gamepad and the game will lock on to your targets.
But don’t think you’re limited to only flying around in the Arwing. In this latest addition to the Star Fox franchise, you also get to change your vehicle at will. All you have to do is press a button and either switch to the notorious Landmaster tank or even a helicopter!
This game not only looks fun to play, but also to watch. Since the player will be using the gamepad to aid them in their adventure, onlookers can see what they do on the big screen. Not much has been said about the actual story, aside from it being set up in a more episodic fashion with side missions being a bit more amusing than the main missions. This game definitely seems to be definitely worth looking forward to. A look into Star Fox for Wii U
