It has been a great weekend for Witcher fans out there (including myself), as CD Projekt has released a new video for their upcoming open-world RPG. And I have to say this, without any hint of bias, the game looks amazing and truly feels next-gen, which it is. The panorama of the new city is incredible – not that Vizima was bad, mind you – and makes me hope that this is what future cities will look like in all future RPG’s.

One of my biggest concerns for The Witcher 3 was the type of enemies Geralt would face. After all, he’s a highly skilled witcher that has just defeated heaps of undead, soldiers, Letho and even a Dragon. So, I was worried that no enemy could be imposing enough in the final part of the game. Well, the trailer wiped away my fears, as those wraiths look downright bad-ass.
The combat system doesn’t seem to have changed much, which is great, since combat in Assassin’s of Kings was fun and polished. As long as they keep to a working recipe – which they seem to be doing – we have nothing to worry about. Lastly, riding looks amazing, and since horse-animation isn’t that easy to pull off well, I’m very hyped to see Geralt saddle up. I just hope you’ll get to ride Roach at some point.
What did you think of the trailer?
