SEGA along with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products today announced some exclusive pre-order content for the upcoming game Alien Isolation. What this includes, you guessed it, is the voices and likenesses of the key cast members from 1979’s “Alien”. This includes Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winner Sigourney Weaver (Ellen Ripley), Tom Skerritt (Dallas), Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (Brett), Yaphet Kotto (Parker) and Ian Holm (Ash, likeness and sound-alike). All of these characters are included in two downloadable bonus missions that can be played to relive scenes from the movie.
Alistair Hope says “working with the original cast has been such an incredible experience” and that “it was important […] to have the key original cast members […] in order to perfectly capture the atmosphere.” Alistair also went on to say that seeing the cast revise their roles after 35 years was truly incredible to watch. It’s a new trend for movie stars to start lending their voices over to video game roles. We saw Willem Dafoe and Ellen Page do it last year when Beyond: Two Souls came out for the Playstation 3. It’ll be interesting to see what the 1979 Alien’s Cast will bring to the game’s feel.
Anyone with a pre-order of Alien: Isolation will receive a free upgrade to the Nostromo edition, which includes more bonus content called “Crew Expendable”. In this content, players can choose to either be Ellen Ripley, Dallas, or Parker as one of the surviving crew members immediately after Brett’s death. They can then explore the Nostromo and ultimately lead to luring the alien into the ship’s airlock. On top of that, those of us in North America and some stores in Europe will receive “Last Survivor”. The player will be able to play as Alice Ripley as she tries to escape on the Narcissus. SEGA didn’t let up on the Downloadable content, it seems jam-packed with amazing goodies!
Alien: Isolation will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and PC October 7, 2014.
What do all of you think? Is this Content going to make you want to buy the game?
