The wait is coming to a close. Game director Matt Firor has just revealed the release date for the Elder Scrolls Online, which will be hitting your PC or Mac on the 4th of April 2014, and will be coming for next-gen consoles PS 4 and Xbox One in June 2014.

According to Matt Firor, the game is doing great, and the attention it’s receiving is huge indeed. Over 4 million players have signed up for a chance to beta test the game, and as a consequence, the devs understand the importance of providing a problem-free release and a stable gaming environment on all platforms.

We long ago promised that as soon as a version of the game is ready, we will launch it. So we’re happy to announce that the game will launch worldwide for PC and Mac players on Friday, April 4, 2014, while PlayStation 4 and Xbox One fans will see the game arriving on consoles in June 2014. Again, thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm over the past year. We are very proud of this game and excited to share it with you. We can’t wait to see you in the game in 2014!” stated Matt.

And, it gets better! With the Elders Scrolls Online release date announcement comes a brand new trailer too, focusing on the mass PvP aspects of the game. Considering that ESO will have a huge emphasis on player versus player content, we’re glad to finally see it in action. You can see the War in Cyrodiil trailer below!
