Moto E features the latest Android version whereas Lumia 1520 is the finest addition from the Windows family. Both these phones have some delightful features to offer. The only question is, are they good enough to stand apart?
Moto E
Being the latest release from Motorola in May 2014 this phone has brought in some features to look out for. Even though it is in a moderate price range, the phone is business compatible. It has more features than many within this price range.
Design & Display
It weighs only 5.01 Oz and has a 4.3 inches touch screen. The capacitive touch screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 support and has 16M colors on it. You can expect a good resolution with 256 pixels per inch density on its touch screen.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The phone has a dual SIM platform and works on superior 2G and 3G technology. MicroSD card slot is expandable up to 32GB even though the internal card slot is only 4GB. We also get only 1GB RAM with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. Considering the price rangers are so low, the camera as well as the battery has not been compromised with. We get a 5 mega pixel rear camera along with 480p fps video recording and geo tagging features. The battery too is non removable Li-Po 1980 mAh in capacity.
Nokia Lumia 1520
Nokia brings to us another range of Windows OS phones in the Lumia category. The phone has recently released in the latter half of 2013. The prices of Lumia 1520 is well above that of Moto E. Some of the features have been expanded as well.
Design & Display
Weighing 7.37 oz, it is not only heavier than Moto E but also has a wider screen of 6 inches. It has 367 pixels per inch density – much higher resolution compared to Moto E. Not only that, we get a clear black display as well. Not to mention the Corning Gorilla Glass 2 class protection enabled on it.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
Nokia Lumia 1520 brings to us the 4G network facility. But the 20 mega pixel rear camera along with sensor and panorama deserve a special mention. This phone is ideal for the photographer in you. However the front camera is only 1.2 mega pixels, which is considerable since we don’t get a front camera in Moto E at all. With a Quad core processor and 2GB RAM, this phone is going to work smoothly. The 3400 mAh battery keeps us on the go.
Overall
Both these phones have a huge difference in their price range. For an entry level Android KitKat OS, Moto E is a great phone. However we cannot overlook the lack of secondary camera in this one. Lumia 1520 on the other hand scores high points on every feature. The camera, the battery, the high speed RAM and processor – all goes in its favor. The prices have not been kept low thus.
