We have got here two never-before-seen handsets. Coming from the Samsung flagship is the ATIV SE which is based on Windows 8 OS while DROID Mini is the latest Android phone offered by Motorola. A lot has been expected from the two phones in terms of performance. Do they stand out? Let’s see.
Motorola Droid Mini
Motorola DROID Mini was released in July 2013 and has since then been quite popular amongst the Android users. It makes absolutely no compromise on its speed and capability. In many ways it is similar to HTC mini but is compact with a smaller package.
Design & Display
Made with Kevlar body, the phone is quite smart looking. You get a moderate 4.3 inches screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. High pixel density of over 300 ppi deserves a mention here. Apart from that the screen is only LCD with light and proximity sensors enabled.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
A high resolution 10 mega pixel camera is one of its pros. We get excellent HD quality video capturing in this phone. Along with this we get a 2 mega pixel rear camera as well. This phone has a dual core processor and with the 2 GB RAM provided, it works very fast. The internal memory is kept at a decent 16 GB. We get fast 4G connection support too. This system works on a powerful 2000 mAh battery.
Samsung ATIV SE
Must say this phone is extremely smart looking. Samsung has decided to really experiment on its outer design. What follows inside is what we must see.
Design & Display
You will get awestruck by its high resolution 5 inch screen with a 441 pixels per inch density. Super AMOLED touch screen along with proximity and light sensor easily beats the DROID Mini’s simple LCD screen. Scratch resistance is a feature which we again do not see in DROID Mini but it is present in ATIV SE. Design wise ATIV SE appears to be much brighter.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
Even this phone provides a 2 GB RAM however the difference is that the Quad core processor works with double the efficiency than DROID Mini in this phone. Apart from that the battery also runs on a 2600 mAh. But the biggest difference is in its camera. ATIV SE has a 13 mega pixels high resolution camera with geo tagging, smile detection, HDR, Panorama and other such features, while DROID Mini lacks all these features on its 10 mega pixel camera.
Overall
Analysis tells us that ATIV SE is a better phone feature wise but it is based on a Windows platform. DROID Mini works on the latest Android OS platform. This is a major difference among the two. If you want a feature rich phone ATIV SE is the one for you, otherwise, as a budget phone DROID Mini does pretty great.
