So with the Rayman trophy does this mean his in Smash?
Today marks the start of a big thing for the Smash Bros series with the reveal of the Rayman trophy earlier today on the Miiverse. The picture of the trophy shown off by Sakurai is an exclusive model of Rayman contributed to them by Ubisoft.
In his post Sakurai said that when they asked Ubisoft “to share their reference”:
“We were expecting to receive 2D drawing references for Rayman, but to our surprise, they sent us data of a brand new 3D model that they rendered for this game!!”
Find out tonight who it will be?With the reveal of the Rayman trophy happening just hours before the latest character is announced, fans everywhere are speculating that it will be Rayman. Considering that Sakurai is known to be a bit of a troll, it could be anyone.
This trophy marks the first third-party trophy in a Smash Bros game yet but this does lead me to ask if putting third-party content in Smash is right? The Smash series up till now has been a celebration of all things Nintendo though third-party trophies and characters are two completely different thing
