Visceral Games identified the community’s least favorite features of the Battlefield Hardline Beta and is in the process of improving the game’s multiplayer based on player suggestions. Developers categorized complaints into ten major categories and began working on ways to fix them without taking the fun out of the game. Here are the categories.

1. Less explosive spam: Devs say the use of and availability of explosives in game will fit more realistically with the cops and robbers theme.

2. Changes to the mechanic class: The Battlefield 4 engineer class is dedicated to taking out vehicles, but Battlefield Hardline has much less vehicle play and each class can take out vehicles easier. To increase the relevance and realism of the mechanic class, the class’ versatility will be improved.

3. Revamping the HUD: Beta players complained that the Hardline HUD was copied and pasted from Battlefield 4. Devs are working to make Battlefield Hardline’s HUD different and less of an interference.

4. Reorganizing customization menu: The play customization menu of Hardline’s beta lacked the order and clean look of Battlefield 4. Devs will change this.

5. Revisiting world depth and interaction: Besides the main levolution event of the beta, Hardline has barely any dynamic aspect to the environment. Due to player complaints devs are working on original interactive map content like radios and ammo lockers.

6. Longer Rounds: Enough said.

7. Vehicle Buffs: A single magazine of many weapons can destroy most transport vehicles and kill all four players inside. Devs are making the vehicles more resistant to bullet damage.

8. Audio awareness improved: Devs are creating more audio cues to warn players of nearby enemies.

9. Revive glitch fixed: In the past, an ammo box or medkit in between a medic and dead player could prevent a revive. No longer a problem say the developers.

10. Taser and Interrogation changes: Devs are changing how the taser and interrogation mechanics work. Interrogation will only reveal players within a short radius now as if spotted by teammates close by.

Developers say more patches are in store and that player feedback is helping the game immensely. The use of an actual Beta for Battlefield Hardline seems to be improving the franchise by miles compared to releasing a beta one month before release like previous Battlefield titles. This time around the developers are intent on a solid launch. Hopefully, there won’t be a necessity for a Community Test Environment to make the game playable this fall.
