Sony’s PlayStation Blog announced this morning that Samurai Warriors 4, the highly anticipated strategy action game releasing in the fall, will be getting a collector’s edition Special Anime Pack.
The announcement was written by Samurai Warriors 4 producer Hisashi Koinuma, who said he was “thrilled to announce” the release of the Special Anime Pack on the PlayStation blog. The Pack will include a DVD of the anime “Samurai Warriors: Legend of the Sanada.” It will also contain the official soundtrack for the game and access to DLC content including special costumes and an Edit Pack.
The Samurai Warriors series features third-person tactical action, with powerful heroes facing off against mobs of Warring States era enemies. The series is loosely based on historical events, though like any good video game it takes many liberties with the source material.
The Samurai Warriors series has been part of the console landscape since 2004, when the original was released for PS2 and Xbox. While prior entries in the series were released for Xbox 360 and even Wii, this edition is currently exclusive to PlayStation, with PS3, PS4, and PS Vita versions.
Samurai Warriors 4: Special Anime Pack releases on October 21st, alongside a regular edition. The Special Anime Pack will only be available for the PS4 edition of the game. No price point for the Special Anime Pack has been announced.
