Samsung and Nokia both have presented high end Android and Windows phones respectively. Both the phones are much loved by the users buy which one stands out to be the best amongst the two? Can Lumia 635 beat Galaxy S3 Slim series? Let’s find out.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Slim
Released in March 2014 the phone portrays some remarkable features. No wonder this phone has been the favorite amongst all right when it was announced. A great exterior coupled with high end features is what clearly distinguishes this phone among others.
Design & Display
It has a physical size of 5.24 x 2.60 x0.38 inches and 4.90 oz. The 4.5 inch screen that it has complements its dimensions perfectly. A TFT screen with multi touch and proximity sensor keeps the display running smoothly. More could have gone into its display orientation in terms of specs. The 245 pixels per inch density are moderate.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The features of this phone are powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad core processor. The 1024 MB makes sure that the phone runs smoothly with all its apps. It has 8 GB built in storage capacity. The microSD card slot supports up to 32 GB. The rear camera has 5 mega pixels but captures 1080p videos – even though it lacks other camera features such as HDR and smile detection. The front camera is poor 0.3 VGA for a phone of this range. The battery supports 2100 mAh.
Nokia Lumia 635
This Windows 8.1 phone is available in yellow, green, orange, red and such other colors. Even though the phone looks cool on the exterior there are serious features which this phone lacks. It was recently released in April 2014.
Design & Display
The 218 pixels per inch density on its 4.5 inch screen make it a moderate resolution phone. IPS LCD screen with light and proximity sensors are its other advantages. It also has scratch resistant glass unlike S3 Slim.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
This phone lacks a front camera which is why its 4G connection support is pretty much rendered useless. Even the 5 mega pixel back camera lacks flash support which is why all the other features such as geo tagging and auto focus may be of little use. It has a 1.2 GHz Quad core processor with only a 512 MB RAM. The 1830 mAh battery life is a big disadvantage.
Overall
S3 Slim seems to be a better performance phone among the two. Both the phones have some similarities – but S3 Slim has a better battery backup and RAM. The lack of front camera and flash support in Lumia 635 cannot be ignored in today’s date.
