Crossed the Checkpoint for Cloudbuilt version 1.11 yet?

After taking a brief crash course about the latest downloadable content (DLC) for Cloudbuilt, personal computer (PC) users should know that Rising Star Games has been promoting the “Through the Fog” expansion for a while. After taking this rare opportunity to uncover this extra package, I noticed that the developers have constructed five brilliantly made levels, offering PC users to take advantage and run through ancient ruins and platforms located in the summer sky. However, playing this fast-paced but challenging game requires a tremendous amount of hand coordination and memory skills in order to complete all the obstacles, which may not sound like important assets until the main character “Demi” dies from overusing the jet-pack in mid-air, falling from a failed climb attempt, and being shot down by numerous enemies hidden on the corner.

Yet, the best time to really experience this quick bundle is now because new players and veteran fans can download the new version 1.11, which immensely improves the previous game-play by removing the known bugs and adding more digital contents. For starters, this special update provides new achievements, four new skins for Demi to unlock, and a small flash to remind owners that they have unused checkpoints when passing by some specific areas in levels.

So what did the creators fixed in this expansion? Here’s the change log in full.

  • Command buffering to prevent any lagging in the input frames (0.4f sec buffer) when the player uses boost abilities after a jump
  • Jump Key Command to enable the user to jump instead of falling after running along a wall and barely sliding over the edge of the wall while pressing down on the Jump key
  • A bug where you sometimes unintentionally started climbing along sloping ledges without giving input
  • A bug with texture loading
  • A bug with the localization that caused wrong localized text to be displayed on the last build
  • General crash bugs
  • A freezing bug in the tutorial level
  • Some performance speed optimizations
  • Bugs in the options window causing crashes
  • A crash with font rendering and improved performance
  • Buggy tutorial prompt

Additionally, the announcer also mentions some minor improvements:

  • Old skin update
  • Skins window split into three tabs based on difficulty of unlocking them
  • Error messages
  • Some general memory and stability fixes
  • Extra visible life icon to signify the change in life count, while staying a little longer on the screen before disappearing
  • Start menu intro contains extras items
  • New extra life pickup in ‘What’s To Come’
  • Credits button to the Start menu under Extras
  • Notifications in the result screen for unlocking skins, new levels, and new record
  • More debug information to be able to track down future bugs easier and faster
  • Animation of notifications and extra life counter in the result screen
can be speed up by clicking Skip (this now also works with a gamepad!)

Remember to update your local content to ensure you have the latest version of the game to get the benefit. For more information about this wonderful package, please visit Cloudbuilt’s official website or Steam.
