Samsung has come up with these two tablets back to back in the first half of 2014. In the past we have seen that Samsung always comes up with high end tabs providing all the essential business features along with excellent camera resolution. But in one of these tabs there seems to be more cons than pros. Which one is that?
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5
The 10.5 is really the size of the screen of this tab. It takes off from where the original Galaxy tab family left. It seems like Samsung has enhanced the productiveness and the capacity of their tabs with this line of product.
Display & Design
Some of its designs resemble Galaxy S5’s inevitably. However this tablet is longer, wider and seems to have a larger footprint than the other. This tab is however slightly thicker, specifically by 0.26 inches, which can be good considering it gives you a good grip at times. The 10.5 inch screen for that matter has below 300 pixels per inch density – roughly about 288 pixels per inch. It has Super AMOLED touch screen. But neither scratch resistance nor proximity sensor is enabled.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
It has an 8 mega pixels camera along with LED flash, CMOS image sensor, autofocus, geo tagging and 1080p HD video recording at 30fps. You even get a 2.1 mega pixels front facing camera along with it. The cherry on top however is its 8 core processor combined with a 3072 MB RAM which makes the device run smoothly. The 7900 mAh battery backup is enough to make it last for a day almost.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1
This tablet released in April 2014 is a much anticipated release from its flagship. Even though this tablet had promised much, it didn’t quite deliver all the needs. For example, the lack of auto focus and flash on its camera is a serious disadvantage.
Display & Design
A little flatter and a few inches smaller than S 10.5, this tablet is quite compact for its dimension. It is also about 20 grams heavier than S 10.5. This tablet, as its name suggests, has a physical size of 10.1. It has an even lower pixel per inch density than S 10.5, roughly about 149 pixels per inch to be specific. Even this tab lacks a proximity sensor and scratch resistance.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The camera is the biggest drawback of this tablet. It has only a 3 mega pixels rear camera with no autofocus or flash as already mentioned. Thankfully the video recording allows capturing at 720p. It has a 1.3 mega pixel front camera. It has a 1536 MB RAM with a Quad core processor. Battery runs at 6800 mAh
Overall
This tablet lags behind on every aspect compared to S 10.5. Even though S 10.5 had released prior to 4 10.1, the former is a better tablet in all terms.
