Given the fact that both are budget phones, the manufacturers have incorporated some extremely reasonable features that are very handy for any professional or casual user. But which of the phones have their techs assembled better? Let’s find out.
LG L80
The L series from LG is supposed to be a budget phone. But we can see that this phone is extremely stylish and very desirable for any user. This phone is already available in the market at a decent price.
Design & display
A flat and slim design with a moderate 187 pixels per inch density on its screen is what makes this phone bright (comparatively) as well as stylish. The 5 inch display screen is a big plus on this phone. Multi touch and proximity sensor adds a star to the phone’s features. Visibly too you may find this phone quite attractive.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
A 5 mega pixel camera aided with geo tagging and auto focus feature is okay. However the lower VGA range front camera is quite a compromise that the makers have made. 2540 mAh capacity battery is a soothing advantage with this phone. Given the fact that this is an Android phone working on Kit Kat version OS, the battery capacity is quite commendable. It has a Dual core processor and 1024 MB RAM. The built in storage is only 4 GB however we get an expandable memory storage unit.
HTC Desire 616
This is deemed to be a decent phone for its price. It was announced in April 2014 but is yet to be released. This is a dual SIM phone supporting fast 4G connection.
Design & display
This phone too has the same size screen as the L80 does. But the 5 inch screen in this one has a higher resolution of 294 pixels per inch making it the sharper one amongst the two. This one too features multi touch and light and proximity sensors. This phone is however much slimmer than L80 which is why it might look a tad bit taller, however it isn’t so. It is just the design making it appear that way.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
It has an 8 mega pixel camera which captures videos at 1080p, even though the camera lacks auto focus. The front facing 2 mega pixel camera is also a big difference from L80. However the best feature of this phone is its powerful 8 core processor. The battery with 2000 mAh capacity is nothing extraordinary and visibly lesser than L80. There is no microSD slot for storage expansion while the phone provides only 4 GB internal storage.
Overall
Both the phones come very close in terms of features. However Desire 616 seems to be better in its performance based on its processor capacity. But the L80 is better in terms of battery as well as processor too. L80 has a better functioning camera with flash and autofocus than the Desire 616. It’s up to you which feature your prefer more.
