Today we will be comparing two of the best smartphones out there in the market by two of the leading mobile companies Google Nexus 4(LG manufactured) and Nokia Lumia 635.
Let’s start comparing these two devices head on.
Nokia Lumia 635 comes with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, 1.2 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A7 processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, Adreno 305 Graphics processor, 512 MB RAM and 8 GB internal memory with micro SD expandable upto 128GB. Google Nexus 4 comes with Android OS, v4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system, upgradable to v4.4.2 (KitKat), 1.5 GHz Quad-core Krait processor with Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon chipset, Adreno 320 Graphics processor, 2 GB RAM and you have two options either 8GB or 16GB. It does not have a memory card slot for expandable memory.
Looking at the build of the two, Lumia 635 has dimensions of 5.10 x 2.63 x 0.36 in, 4.5 inches screen size, 480 x 854 pixels resolution and 218 ppi pixel density and it weighs 134 g. Nexus 4 has dimensions of 5.27 x 2.70 x 0.36 in, 4.7 inches screen size, 768 x 1280 pixels resolution and 318 ppi pixel density and it weighs 139 g. Lumia 635 has IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection whereas Nexus 4 has True HD IPS Plus capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection.
Coming to camera, Lumia 635 features 5 MP, autofocus primary camera which can shoot videos at 720p@30fps and it does not have a secondary camera. Nexus 4, on the other hand features 8MP, autofocus primary camera with LED flash which shoots video at 1080p@30fps and it also has a 1.3MP secondary camera.
Lumia 635 comes with a Li-Ion 1830 mAh battery which gives back up of 648 hr in standby, talk time of up to 12 hr on 2G / up to 14 hr 3G whereas Nexus 4 has non-removable Li-Po 2100 mAh battery with a standby time of up to 390 hr on 3G and a talktime of up to 15 hr on 3G.
Both of them have some additional features like Bluetooth, Wi-fi, Mobile Hotspot have micro sim, a micro USB connector, A-GPS for positioning, accelerometer sensors, and many other features which are required to make the daily life easier.
Nokia Lumia 635 is available from $99, whereas Nexus 4 starts from $199 for 8GB variant and $249 for 16GB variant.
So, Lumia 635 is a decent budget phone with all the features for a normal smart phone user, but if you are ready to spend some extra bucks, Nexus 4 is definitely worth buying. It has many advantages, one of the important part being that it is a product from Google and you will get all the updates from Google, be it on the operating system or any other software upgrades. Another point is that it has 2GB RAM, which really makes the device faster.
