Sakurai revealed a new stage for Super Smash Bros 3DS on the Miiverse
With only a month left before Super Smash Bros is released in Japan, you’d think they’re won’t be much left to show off but that hasn’t stopped Sakurai who revealed a new stage for Super Smash Bros 3DS.
The stage was revealed through today’s Pic of the Day where Sakurai said that:
Reshiram appears on one of the stages in the 3DS version! Zekrom and Milotic will appear, too. It’s close enough to the launch date, so I don’t have to describe this stage to you, right? The design of this stage is based off of the surroundings of someone’s castle.
Judging from what’s behind Reshiram, this stage is based on the part in Black and White 1 where N Castle rose from the ground after he defeated the head of the Elite Four Alder. Oddly enough along with both cover legendaries appearing in the stage, the gen 3 Pokemon Milotic will also appear. While adding another generations Pokemon adds some variety, this is a little odd because in Brawl there was also the Spear Pillar stage which along with including the gen 4 cover legendaries also had Cresselia who was also a gen 4 legendary.
This either means that A) Nintendo is hinting that Milotic might be getting a Mega Evolution or B) they just wanted some generation variety in what Pokemon show up in the stage.
Finally it should be noted that only a 3DS version of this stage has been revealed so it may be another 3DS exclusive stage. It would make sense since the only gen 5 games released on the Wii where those PokePark games.
The Pic of the Day revealed a new stage for Super Smash Bros 3DS but as it moves closer to its release date of September 13th in Japan and October 3rd for the rest of us, I wonder how many stages there are left to announce.
