Google Nexus 5
Nexus 5 is the latest phone in the Nexus series and like its predecessors it has amazed us again. A great device with market leading specs, it was made publicly available in November 2013.
Visual Details
A beautiful 4.95 inch display hosting a huge 1080×1920 resolution generates a massive pixel density of ~445 ppi and the True HD IPS+ screen gives a picture quality that is nothing less than eye candy for any user. The same rigid body this time with a matt finished back makes the phone look really beautiful.
Technical Specifications
The huge 2.3 GHz monster of a processor coupled with more than sufficient 2GB of RAM run the device in as smooth manner as possible, no matter what you’re doing. Internal storage comes in 16/32 GB options which are more than enough for most users as there’s no card slot. Default Android version is 4.4 and can be upgraded to v4.4.4.
Multimedia
The 8 megapixel camera could have been replaced with something bigger but apparently that wasn’t the main concern for LG when making this device. Standard set of features that come with most smartphones nowadays make Google Nexus 5 a decent shooter.
Battery
The 2300 mAh battery is capable of providing up to 2 days of normal use.
Sony Xperia Z2a
Sony is about to release an update to the Xperia Z2 that is going to put it on top of a lot of charts. The Z2a has specs that can blow almost all its competition out of the water. Scheduled to be released in July 2014, it will be available in Black, Turquoise and White color.
Visual Details
Screen is 5.0 inches with 1080×1920 screen resolution creating ~441 ppi pixel density. Dust proof and water resistant, its display comes with shatter proof glass and technologies like Triluminous display and X-Reality. This phone will certainly be a work of art.
Technical Specifications
A Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processing unit coupled with rarely available 3GB RAM capacity will make this phone a dream to use. Memory capacity on the phone is only 16GB. The external storage option up to 128 gigabytes easily solves that problem though. Android software version will be KitKat 4.4.2
Multimedia
A huge 20.7 MP monster will be responsible for taking pictures with unbelievable quality. The list of features that will be available for photography and video recording (2160p video being a noticeable one) is simply too long to mention here. It’s certainly going to amaze the crowd.
Battery
The huge 3000 mAh unit should be able to sustain this beast for 2 days at least. However actual results can only be determined post-release.
Verdict
The Google Nexus 5 is certainly a very capable phone but with the specs on Xperia Z2a, it will make sure that the Nexus 5 is no match for it.
