Both Samsung and LG have tried to give us their latest range of affordable smart phones. Since they are similar in their features, we cannot come to conclusion unless we have a closer look the detailed specs of each phone.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo
Samsung released this phone in the first quarter of 2014 along with other high end smart phones which were already available in the market back then. Being a medium range phone it has compromised with some features. But is it a smart move?
Design & Display
It weighs 163 grams and has TFT capacitive touch screen. Displaying a large 5.5 inch screen Samsung has got the design aspect right with this phone. It has also got 186 pixels per inch density on screen which gives it an almost bright resolution.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
This phone is available in 8/16 GB memory, which is expandable up to 64 GB. We get a 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution along with LED flash and autofocus support. The phone has a 5 mega pixels primary camera and a basic VGA secondary camera. It works on Android OS v4.2 JellyBean. The Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery supports the workings of its Quad core processor amply. 1 GB Ram has been provided too.
LG Volt
This phone too was released in the second quarter of 2014. Unlike Neo, this phone does not feature Dual SIM. It operates on single SIM and does not facilitate 3G connection either. However it supports 4G and CDMA 2G connection.
Design & Display
This phone has an IPS LCD touch screen which is way better than Grand Neo. Even though it has a 4 inch display which is lower in size compared to Neo, it has 234 pixels per inch on its screen, making it brighter than Neo. This phone also has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection on its display.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
This phone has a 1 GB RAM and an 8 GB internal memory. It does not have GPRS or EDGE like Neo but it works on CDMA and LTE. It also sports NFC and infrared. This phone has a fully equipped 8 MP camera with geo tagging, panorama and HDR. The front camera is not VGA like Neo but it rather has a 1.3 MP capture facility. Both the phones are 1.2 GHz Quad core based.
Overall
These two phones are extremely similar. The only big difference among them lies in their camera feature and connectivity. Neo presents more connectivity options than Volt while Volt has better camera resolution than Neo. The choice is yours.
