The Sims 4 is rewarding those who owned the Sims 3 with bonus digital content based on how many expansions the player owned. Those with an origin account can see which specific rewards they’ve unlocked by going to the rewards page of The Sims website.
The Ultimate Freezer Bunny Award
Each reward comes with a lamp signifying that you’ve owned a specific pack. Say you own The Sims 3 and the Night Life Expansion pack, you’ll get two lamps, one for owning each. If you own all of the expansion packs, you’ll get the ultimate freezer bunny award. I wonder if any of these little prizes mean that you will get specific content in the game, or if you’ll just own the lamp. The rewards program only last until December of 2015, a year after The Sims 4 will be released. This will give many players the opportunity to go back and own the Sims 3 for exclusive content in The Sims 4.
The Sims 4 is focused this year on emotions, human interaction, and more customization. This seems like next way for the Sims to go, considering they’ve been updating the graphics of the game and working on PC requirements to match all systems. The Sims 4 is also working on having a premium membership where players can access downloadable content through a payment plan. What this could bring to The Sims is exactly what The Sims needed, which was more community output. The most important element of the game is to now be able to bring other people’s creations into the game/interact with a community that truly loves The Sims. The rewards are only a small portion of what makes a good incentive out of playing The Sims. We’ll have to see how the emotions pan out for the Sims 4.
The Sims 4 will be available in September of 2014. Excitement is the only word that could contain the hype for this game.
