Sony Xperia Z
It was released in the second quarter of 2013. Even though it was released an year ago, this phone stood ahead of its time, and has some features which even the very high end latest releases don’t have. The best part is that all these features fit in a low budget.
Design & Display
The phone is quite light in weight. It weighs only 146g and is an IP67 certified dust and water resistant model. The water resistant feature is only up to 1 meter and 30 minutes. It does not have the S Pen Stylus which the Note series from Samsung features. It has a big 5 inch screen with bright 441 pixels per inch resolution to illumine its TFT capacitive touch screen. It is shatter proof glass protected and features multi touch up to 10 fingers.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
The phone features high resolution 13.1 mega pixel camera with LED flash, sweep panorama and HDR. It also provides us a 2.2 mega pixel front camera with 1080p recording capacity. The Android OS is upgradable to the latest KitKat version. Its only downside is perhaps the non removable battery which gives a 2330 mAh capacity. Apart from that it has a Quad core processor and a 2 GB RAM with internal memory of 16 GBs.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo
This resembles the Xperia Z a lot in terms of features. But it comes from Samsung, so we are expecting there will be a few trademarks Samsung features. Let us see if that is the case.
Design & Display
It has a slightly higher 5.5 inch screen than Xperia Z. Having Super AMOLED touch screen it is a also a bit brighter in appearance. But the pixel count on the screen is almost half that of Xperia Z (~267ppi). Multi touch is provided but the screen has no protection unlike Xperia Z.
Specification, Camera & Battery
This phone too has a 16GB RAM but only 11GB is user available, external 64GB expandable memory slot is provided though. This too has a Quad core processor and a 2 GB RAM. It has a fully equipped 8 mega pixel rear camera and a 2 mega pixel front camera. Only the 3100 mAh battery is higher than Xperia Z.
Overall
Xperia Z has a better processor than Note 3 Neo, and also a better camera feature. Note 3 Neo on the other hand has a better battery capacity than Xperia Z. But still Xperia Z should be given a better preference since it gives a richer visual effect. Rest is up to you – both the phones are good value for money.
