R.I.P. Robin Williams, the comedy legend who was also a gamer.

by

Let me start off by saying I understand Robin Williams is not exactly a name most people think of when they think gaming, but he had a larger role than you may think. After his death on August 11th, I thought the gaming world should remember him as fondly as his film and television fans will.

Check out this awesome video showcasing Robin’s love of the legend of Zelda:

Robin showed his support of the series by appearing in several Legend of Zelda ads, including Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. His love for the game carried over so much that he even named his daughter after princess Zelda. On a truly sad day I hope we can all sit back and think about the things that truly matter in life.

R.I.P Robin Williams, if only you knew that the world has stopped to mourn you. You brought nothing but joy to everyone that had the privilege of seeing you perform. I hope you’re in a better place playing the legend of Zelda.

What is your favorite Robin Williams memory? Between Aladdin, Hook and Mrs. Doubtfire its impossible for me to choose. Please share your thoughts and memories to help show how much of an impact he left on us all. I will be watching Aladdin tonight while playing the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on my 3DS XL.

R.I.P Robin Williams, the gamer at heart.
