Fable Anniversary is coming to Steam, but what does that mean for the PC gamers of the world? Exactly what you think it might. We’re going to be able to enjoy the likes of Fable on PC once again, but with a remastered edition.
Fable was first released in 2004 on the Xbox, but got prime screen time for PC Users in 2005, with Fable: The Lost chapters. Fable followed up with Fable 2, the higher rated game in the series, and then Fable 3, which was not very good at all. That can be a completely different article, but we’re focusing on Fable Anniversary.
Here are the minimum and system requirements recommended by Steam to play Fable Anniversary:

- Processor: Intel 2GHz Core2 Duo / AMD Athlon 64 x2 2.4GHz
- Memory: 3 GB RAM
- Graphics: Radeon X1800/ Nvidia GeForce 7600GT
- DirectX: Version 9.0
- Hard Drive: 10 GB available space
Recommended:
- OS: Windows 7/8 64bit
- Processor: Intel Core2 Quad 2.33GHz
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260
- DirectX: Version 9.0
- Hard Drive: 10 GB available space
It looks like it’s going to take a decent amount of power to run this game. In fact, Fable Anniversary was listed as being an HD remastered game, so I would expect only the best graphics.
I love Fable and all, but why are we receiving HD remakes of games? I feel like since we’re going into the new generation of gaming, gamers have only received remakes of games, instead of new games. We have received games like Elder Scrolls Online, Watch Dogs, and more. We have all the sports games and new releases, but that’s about it. No new games breaking boundaries or anything of the like. I’d like to say that in a month with Destiny coming out as well as many other games, we’ll be able to see more depth in the next-gen consoles. Right now, there’s only the point of updating graphics instead of updating gameplay. This hard transition into next-gen gaming is going to take some time, but it will be worth it in the long run. Right now, we have to be patient and put up with the HD remakes.
Fable Anniversary will be released on September 12, 2014 (next month!). If you pre-purchase now, Fable Anniversary will give you the first DLC pack for free! I’d say if you got the computer to run Fable, you might want to check it out early and pick up the free DLC.
