So how long do you think it will take before the dialogue in Fable Legends loops?
It taken more than four entries in the series but in an interview with the Examiner.com writer Andrew Walsh confirmed that each hero will have 3,000 lines of dialogue in Fable Legends.
In the interview he said that:
“What we also have on top of that is this narrative discovery system where any hero has their own personality and has 3,000 lines of dialogue, filling this whole world up with this contextual system.“[Your hero] will always say something appropriate to what you’re doing. Each hero will have different things to say about what is happening to you,”
The fact that your hero can now talk is one of the biggest changes the series and it does show that the single player experience is important to Lionhead Studio’s despite this game being a co-op dungeon crawler. The reason they can give the characters dialogue in Fable Legends is because unlike the original three games, here players can play as one of four heroes.
Each hero has their own fighting style and personality which is where the dialogue comes in. With the four heroes we know that there’s a prince charming styled character armed with a rapier and an equally quick tongue as well as a Will/magic user called Winter. The other two are a greatshield wielding swords-women and a guy with a crossbow. The game itself takes place 400 years before Fable 1, in a time where the Heroes Guild is just getting started.
