Although some gaming industries like Blizzard are adding Robin Williams into their video games, his virtual presence has been apart of the Kingdom Hearts (KH) series for a long time as the infamous genie from Disney’s Aladdin. However, Dan Castellaneta actually voices this virtual genie; yet this beloved character reminds fans of Robin Williams’s personality in other spin-off titles as well: Chain of Memories, ReCoded, etc. Unfortunately, the “Genie” has finally ended before the third sequel of this role-playing game have officially arrived.
As such, one wonders if this mystical being will be in the upcoming project since it’s still currently in the development stage. Some KH supporters are crossing their fingers that the genie reminds, despite being voiced by another person. However, the infamous developing and publishing studio, Square Enix, must consider having to go through this process again when adding this blue character to other future titles.
Perhaps, Square Enix has already decided to cut him and the Aladdin’s world from future projects in the Kingdom Hearts universe since KH 3 is already marked as the final ending to the “Dark Seeker” saga. Surprisingly, this company has not said anything on twitter or made any official announcement about the actor or his passing. Yet, their silence might be delivered in another fashion.
Like ending credits in movies, some folks leave a dedication remark or a memorial line about someone who passed away. “In Memory of Robin Williams” or “This game is dedicated to Robin Williams” might appear at the closing, which is a nice contribution for those who watch the whole ending. Therefore, players should expect something in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts II.5 project, which will definitely feature this unforgettable character.
