Microsoft Studio’s Japanese branch opened up a new page for the Xbox One version of Kingdom Hearts III, releasing some official information regarding the upcoming game. The game has been confirmed for a Japanese release following the news of Xbox One’s launch window in Japan. Square Enix detailed the general story of Kingdom Hearts III and where the series will go with the new game. An excerpt courtesy of KH Insider reads as follows:
In the latest entry of the KINGDOM HEARTS series, a grown Sora will journey to a new adventure. Next generation platform specs are being utilized, actions are more exhilarating than ever, and offers a mechanism that is jam-packed with (ride) attractions. The compilation of the series has expanded the storyline to an impressive scale and it will evolve into a work of rich entertainment.
In addition to the notable themes of KINGDOM HEARTS, a new essence is being implemented to Disney worlds. Only in KINGDOM HEARTS this experience can be played and please look forward to it by all means.
This signifies how Square Enix are aiming to harness the power of the next gen consoles to make the experience very unique for the series. The feature of being able to summon Disney rides/attractions was shown during the last trailer released for KHIII and will likely be a big mechanic within the game. The ‘new essence’ mentioned remains mysterious, though we can expect Square Enix to surprise us with what ever this feature is when the game releases, as they have done in the past with previous games.
Kingdom Hearts III was announced back at E3 2013, which is in development for PS4 and Xbox One to release at an unspecified date. This game is the long awaited conclusion to the Kingdom Hearts saga that started back on PS2 with the original ‘Kingdom Hearts’ and has since been keeping fans on edge before its announcement. Players hoping to catch up on the series’ past can buy Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix for PS3 to play the first two games and in time also purchase Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix when it launches on PS3 at a later date.
