Call of Duty: Ghosts – Onslaught DLC will bring Horror elements to the game

Infinity Ward likes to tease. Today’s post on their Instagram page is a good indication of that. It seems new content will be coming to Call of Duty: Ghosts this month, with the next DLC for the game entitled Onslaught. Onslaught creates a distinct atmosphere in the game, mainly one of horror and eerie settings. It’s certainly a different take on what the series has been representing so far. It was never a hyper-realistic military simulator, but I must admit this take is somewhat unexpected.

As you can see from the teaser, there’s some spooky background music to go along with the new direction of the DLC. It’s actually the theme music from John Carpenter’s 1978 classic film, Halloween. That should be a fairly good indication as to what’s in store in the upcoming DLC for Ghosts. But the DLC isn’t about the music, it’s about content. And content it shall bring! A new map will surely be introduced, called Nightfall, but rumors also have it other maps will be included as well, mainly Fog, Containment, Bayview and Ignition. Spiders will be introduced as new enemies in the Extinction mod, and apparently, a Maverick Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle will also be a part of the DLC.

There is no information regarding the price of the DLC. It’s surely going to be a part of the Season Pass, but it will be up for grabs individually as well. Call of Duty: Ghosts – Onslaught is the first of the four planned DLC’s, next to Invasion, Nemesis and Devastation. It’s going to land on Xbox One first, on the 28th of January, but other platforms will be receiving it soon after too.
