LG G3 cat. 6 and the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are both packed with wonderful features. Choosing the better one of the two can be quite a challenge. With both mobiles offering almost the same level of functionality and features, how can you decide? This review will compare some of the main differences between the two smartphones: mainly their sizes, processor chips, and screen resolutions.
Both smartphones feature large multitouch displays, but at 5.7 inches, the Samsung Galaxy note is expected to have a larger resolution than the LG G# cat. 6’s 5.5 inches. These two mobiles differ greatly in physical size as well; the LG G3 cat. 6 measures just 5.76 x 2.94 x 0.36 inches, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be around the same size as its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. For reference, the Note 3’s dimensions were 15.1 x 7.9 x 0.83 inches. In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy Note gets the edge with a metal body and a water/dust resistant design.
Both smartphones run on Android, but the Galaxy Note 4 will have the newer 4.4.3 version of the OS while the LG G3 cat. 6 runs on 4.4.2. The LG G3 cat. 6 has a 2.1 MP camera, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have a 2.0 MP camera. So not much difference in photo resolution, but the Galaxy Note 4 wins extra points here for providing the ability to record video in 1080p HD, something the LG G3 cat. 6 does not.
It has been rumored that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would feature an Exynos 5433 chip inside, but other reports are stating that it will have the same Qualcomm 805 chip as the LG G3 cat. 6. we’ll need to wait a little longer to see if Samsung will go with Qualcomm or the speedier Exynos. No word yet on the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but the LG G3 cat. 6 boasts a 3000 mAh capacity battery, more than sufficient for a mobile phone of its class.
There has been no official news yet on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but it’s expected to be priced at $750 maximum when it is released in September. This, of course, is an assumtion based on the price of the Galaxy Note 3, which was introduced last year at this time. The LG G3 cat. 6 can be purchased off contract for $580.
In deciding which is the better smartphone, it seems like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be the better deal. Its water resistant design, possibly faster processor, and ability to shoot video in 1080p HD makes this phone particularly attractive. Some may find it too big in size, but for the quality and features it offers, it’s definitely worth considering.
