You’d think that a game called Titanfall would be defined by the Titans having an affinity to fall. Yet Titanfall‘s latest update will add a new gamemode that allows players to play the game without any Titans.
The new mode will be called Pilot Skirmish and will be released with Game Update Six. Pilot Skirmish is an 8v8 mode with no AI and no Titans. This mode allows more players (usually it’s 6v6) in a match at any given time, without any of the bullet fodder that is the AI or the giant Titans to get in your way.

No Titans allowed!
Due to Titanfall‘s unique movement system, I can really see this new gamemode taking off. The parkour aspect of Titanfall is great fun, and being able to play it without AI or giant Titans getting in the way should be a blast. The competitive gamer inside me also squeals with delight of this mode. Nothing but you, your weapon, and your freerunning skills, a true test of how good you are at Titanfall. No reliance on your massive robot to save you now!
Although, a lot of other games would be remarkably similar to this gamemode. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is basically what Titanfall is without the Titans. The same could be said for the Crysis series. Plus, those two series do what Titanfall does, just better (in my opinion). It’s a risky move to take the unique selling point of Titanfall out, we’ll have to wait and see just how popular this gamemode is.
Along with Game Update Six, Marked For Death is now its own permanent gamemode. Originally this gamemode was going to be part of a rotation, but due to its popularity, its now become a permanent gamemode. Colorblind options are now also available, new Burn Cards have also been added and a ton of optimizations regarding FX and matchmaking have also been put into play. Gameplay changes have also been made, but there’s a lot to mention, if you want to check out the full list of changes, click the link here.
