The sequel of Eternal Darkness, Shadow of the Eternals has been in a cyclical stage of constant cancellation and development process renewal. However, as fans have been in constant support, the developers of the game confirm that even though a time period can’t be officially stated they have not given up and the spiritual successor of Eternal Darkness will be released in the future.
Last year, after the failure of their first Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter campaign, Precursor Games launched another campaign with a more reasonable funding goal. However the project didn’t manage to attract even half of the desired amount.
As the game was delayed indefinitely, rumors about the game’s death spread out throughout the web. However, in a recent forum post, Precursor Games officially stated that they will continue to search for “potential options and directions for the future” and that rumors are “greatly exaggerated.”
The successor of the 2002 classic Eternal Darkness, Shadow of the Eternals is planned to be released on both the PC and the Wii U. Although no official date can be mentioned, the developers are working hard on bringing the game to life.
