Phablets are not exactly hot sellers in the West but it seems like one giant player in the market is looking to change that.
iPhone 5C
In Korea and other Asian markets, phones with screen sizes larger than 5 inches are the rage. In the United States market though, the demand for such bulky phones is very low at the moment. In fact, 20 million phablets were sold last year and in contrast, Apple probably sold more than 50 million iPhones in the last quarter alone.
iPad Mini
Wall Street Journal is reporting though that the next version of the iPhone will be given a large screen. More than 5 inches in fact. This would make Apple an official entrant to the phablet market. In addition, the new iPhone could cannibalize sales of the iPad Mini. But Apple does not really care about that.
