Dota 2’s hero roster will be joined by Terrorblade

by GH Staff

The New Bloom Festival update for Dota 2 is coming up shortly, and with it, so is Terrorblade, the newest hero to join Dota 2’s already diverse roster. Players of the original Dota will remember Terrorblade well. The hero hasn’t changed much for Dota 2, and will include the following abilities:

  • Reflection – Create a double of your foe, which then attacks its original as it slows their movement.
  • Conjure Image – Summon forth an illusion of yourself to aid you in battle.
  • Metamorphosis – Embrace the darkness within, trading your melee attack for a ranged strike while granting additional damage.
  • Sunder – Sever the soul of an ally or enemy, exchanging your health for theirs.

As in the first Dota, timing Sunder well will be crucial towards being a successful Terrorblade, but a well timed ultimate can seriously alter the outcome of a fight. Metemorphosis will offer some great lane harassment possibilities, while Reflection and Conjure Image are pretty much self-explanatory.

In addition to adding Terrorblade, Dota 2 will also be receiving a new game mode, called Random Ability Draft (RAD). And it’s definitely RADical! The mode will assign players random heroes, and then allow them to take turns in selecting abilities from a pool. This pool will be made up of the combined abilities of this hero. Basically, we’re talking Pudge’s hook on a Luna. While the mode most likely won’t be the best setting for balanced competitive and professional play, it will surely provide some great laughs and combinations. And shouldn’t Dota 2 be about fun and laughs too?

Lastly, the update will bring the 6.80 patch too, a patch that will feature some gameplay balancement changes. Notable changes are a fix to Traxex’s silence ability, the elimination of the mana cost on the Blink Dagger and a gold penalty for failing to pick a hero in time in All Pick.
