Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain confirmed for 2015 release date

As reported earlier today, Konami conducted a livestream of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at TGS 2014, which revealed a nearly 22-minute-long gameplay demonstration

 

In addition, a new trailer featuring Quiet and her skin OctoCamo was showcased.

But that’s not all, Kojima’s mysterious “Metal Gear Collection 2014,” last week is not an current generation HD remaster of previous MGS games, but  is, in fact, a Metal Gear Solid V-inspired clothing line. Troll-jima strikes again.

However, some arguably more pertinent news was confirmed…Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain‘s will not be bestowed upon anxious gamers any time this year.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in 2015

During Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain‘s gameplay demonstration, Hideo Kojima himself confirmed that the game will release in 2015.

While this may not be surprising to some people, gamers crossing their fingers for a late 2014 release are sure to be disappointed.

As for the specifics of when MGSV will release next year, nothing has been announced. Rumor and speculation anticipate an early Q1 2015 release, however, most gamers probably want an official release announcement from Kojima-san himself.


Below is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain‘s TGS 2014 schedule, if you’re interested.

“‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will appear in four different stage events, each with different guests.

Vocation” will be repeated every day of the show, from the 18th to the 21st, and will star actor Dante Carver.
Voyager” will be repeated only on the 20th and the 21nd, and will bring in Kenji Yano as a guest.
Vehement” will be on stage only on the 20th, and will star Snake’s voice actor Akio Otsuka, Ocelot’s voice Satoshi Mikami, and Quiet voice and performance actress Stefanie Joosten.
Virtue” will be on the 21st, and will come with Akio Otsuka, Satoshi Mikami, Stefanie Joosten, Kenji Yano and Kazuhira Miller’s voice actor Tomokazu Sugita.”

This year’s Tokyo Game Show has already started and ends on the 21st, so be sure to keep an eye on GamerHeadlines.com for relevant news from the event.


Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain does not have an official release date as of yet, but seeing as we now know it will release sometime next year, it’s possible the specifics may be revealed sometime during TGS 2014.

The game will release for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
