During the Tokyo Game Show 2014, Heath Hindman (a writer from gamerevolution.com) asked Hijime Tabata (the director of Final Fantasy Type-O) about the slick vehicle that’s been shown in various Final Fantasy XV clips. For years, the Final Fantasy fans have witnessed various transportation methods (from the epic airships, railroad trains, motorcycles, chocobos, etc.), but these hardcore veterans are finally handling a car for the first time. Even better, this automobile will be the common use of transportation throughout the entire gameplay to travel across the world, despite the fact that players can also use the warp command to move to places as well. As such, save good-bye to big bird!
As a quick reminder, Final Fantasy Type-O will include a demo for FFXV. Although folks might not what’s completely inside the demo, players should expect the gameplay to last up to three hours, but Mr. Tabata warns Mr. Hindman that demonstration can be longer than three hours if these players don’t use the car.
He also stated that the prince and his friends are with the car so much that, “You can see the car as another member of the group, because the car is always with them throughout their journey. Think of it as a party member.”
Although Square Enix’s titles often has a nostalgic element in each game from predecessors (involving moogles to espers), the future titles often also have a surprise factor like the car. Unlike the living chocobos, this nameless party member may or maynot depend on gasoline, inflict damages to adversaries, and have a digital voice command with a sarcastic attitude. Only time can tell.
