Sony took to the PlayStation blog this morning to announce information regarding the pricing and compatibility of games for the upcoming PlayStation TV.
The blog post detailed that PlayStation TV will be available in the two different packages that consumers will be able to choose from on October 14th, the day of the PlayStation TV’s release.
The first package will be priced at $99.99 and will include just the core system, and the second package will be priced at $139.99 and will include the system, a DualShock 3 wireless controller, 8GB memory card, and a copy of The Lego Movie Videogame.
The blog post also revealed a third package, which will be a Wal-Mart exclusive, that will also cost $139.99, and will include everything from the second package plus a copy of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.
A detailed list of what games will be compatible with the PlayStation TV was also released and can be found here. Titles confirmed to be compatible with the upcoming system include: Rayman Origins, God of War Collection, Killzone: Mercenary, Final Fantasy X/ X-2 HD Remaster, Metal Gear Solid, and Patapon.
PlayStation TV was first released in Japan last year in November and was later confirmed for a North American release on October 14th and a European release on November 14th. The system will allow gamers to play select game titles from PlayStation Vita, PlayStation One, and PlayStation Portable, as well as allow users to stream PS3 titles via PS Now and PS4 titles via Remote Play.
