Update 1.0.1.4 for Destiny has been announced, and addresses some problems players have been encountering, both raid wise and (apparently) mission wise. Here are the notes:
- Shrine of Oryx: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers.
- Sword of Crota: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers.
- Exclusion Zone: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers.
- Dropping the relic at the end of the raid will no longer result in a team wipe. This will prevent players being stuck at a black screen after the raid.
- You will remain dead if you were dead when the mission ended. That will be addressed by a future patch.”
Of course, people aren’t too happy with this patch, instead, wishing for the real problems of Destiny to be fixed. Why don’t legendary engrams always give legendary gear? How about a dedicated trading system? How about matchmaking so we don’t have to compete with people with much better gear in the Crucible? Maybe some form of adequate communication, like a chat system? Maybe more lore explanations in the game itself? I don’t recall people ever complaining about the difficulty of Destiny, so it’s hard to see how this addresses player concerns. People were already clearing missions on Heroic with ease, so why the need to ease it up? This is a small step in terms of patches, a step that doesn’t seem to be going in the right direction, and while they fixed some bugs regarding raids, it seems like it’ll be a while until any substantial patch hits the game.
What do you guys think of the game at the moment? Do you think this patch is a step in the right direction? Or a direction that needs to be changed ASAP?
