Today, United Front Games has officially unveiled Triad Wars, an upcoming open-world online followup to Sleeping Dogs, for the personal computer.

To further announce the reveal of this innovative project, the company has released a developer diary that shares the first details. Although James Baldwin released the written news to the public, interested spectators can also hear some words from the other developers in the provided video that shows some gameplay.
Set in a city of Hong Kong and the Sleeping Dogs universe, future players will rise to power as a criminal king of the Triad underworld. While roaming through the open online world, these folks will soon experience the unrivaled combination of fighting, shooting, and driving to succeed through strategies that deal with extortion, hacking & money laundering, etc. In the end, players will decide how to run the gang and the city.
“Sleeping Dogs was all about the story of Wei Shen and taking you on a ride along that story and finding out what was going to happen to Wei Shen. Triad Wars is the other side of that, which is all about Hong Kong and it’s all about the criminal underworld within Hong Kong. This is about you creating your own game.”

Players will become an enforcer who must start with a small gang within the Hong Kong mafia and build up the crew and turf to eventually establish a criminal empire. Players might even build rackets and invade other peoples’ turfs to expand their territory.
