The Xbox One has received another price cut in the U.K.. The price for a standard Xbox One has been cut by £20 to £329.99 both on the Microsoft Store and on third party retailers such as Amazon U.K.. This is the third reduction in price the Xbox One has received in the U.K., despite only being launched last November. The Xbox One originally launched at a price of £429.99 in the U.K., but that price was soon reduced to just below the £400 mark to £399.99 in the run-up to the release of Titanfall. The Xbox One’s U.K. price was once again slashed when the £349.99 Kinect-less bundle was released at the beginning of the summer.
This £20 price cut means that the standard Xbox One is now at a slightly cheaper official price point than the PlayStation 4 in the U.K.. This move by Microsoft comes after reports that the PS4 has continued to out-sell the Xbox One in the United Kingdom., with the PlayStation 4 having reportedly outsold the Xbox One by 2 to 1 in the launch week of Destiny.
Whether Microsoft will follow suit in other territories is currently unknown. Microsoft will undoubtedly want to bolster Xbox One sales in the U.K., having been dominant in the United Kingdom with the Xbox 360.
