Even though Fallout 4 is one of the most anticipated titles for 2014, it is highly unlikely that Bethesda will announce something officially regarding the next game in the franchise anytime soon. Even though fans have their fingers crossed and are hoping for an announcement, currently the game is not even officially in development. However, even though there are many rumors going around the web about the game, some of them are actually true and pretty much everyone is certain of the current development stage of Fallout 4.
A few days ago, when asked by a fan in Twitter, the vice president of Bethesda, Pete Hines did not renounce the existence of the game. However, he stated that even if it is true Bethesda won’t be ‘talking about what they are working on.’ He also added that they won’t be talking ‘for quite a long time.’
@Atlas_Crazed We are not talking about what they are working on and will not be for quite a long time.

Many fans suggest that something regarding Fallout may be heard at the upcoming PAX expo. However, Hines responded to such claims as well, saying he won’t ‘pre-announce announcements.’
@TheGinger1794 I'm not known to pre-announce announcements

However, don’t lose hope! Recent job posts released from Bethesda Game Studios suggest that the company is working hard on bringing the best RPG experience. ‘Pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for the PC and consoles,’ the team may have quite a lot of work left on Fallout as most suggestions revolve around a late 2015 release date. Bethesda might just not want to stir the pot too early.
If you are too eager and want to be sure that the game is in development, you may sign the official change.org petition for the game’s announcement that is already has 6,700 signatures. The only thing we can hope for is that Fallout 4 doesn’t become the next victim of the Half Life 3 Paradox.
