Introduced in the new Patch 6.80, the Dota 2 Random Ability Draft mode adds a new level of unpredictable excitement in the game. Unlocked at level 5, it lets players create their own unique hero by drafting from a pool of abilities. Although it is imbalanced, the game mode is highly recommended for people who like to experiment and love to be additionally challenged by the element of surprise.
The objective in Dota 2 Random Ability Draft mode is the same as in the original. However, the wildcard elements lets you randomize a hero and surprise your enemy with the skills at your disposal. Once all the players have chosen their heroes, their abilities are stripped from them and put into a pool with a few additional randomized options. When the players enter the skill picking phase, they are able to build their hero in a turn based manner.
Recommended for skilled players who are well familiar with Dota 2, the Random Ability Draft Mode will make your brain work, while letting your creativity go wild. As there are a total of 437 skills from 107 heroes available a simple math equation leads us to more than 635,000,000 possible combinations, thus making every other match different from the previous one. Even though some players strongly suggest that Valve separates the ‘fun’ game modes from the win/loss count, the issue hasn’t been addressed.
