Perhaps A New Engine To Replace The Luminous Engine?
Square Enix, developer and publisher behind Final Fantasy XV, has recently filed for a trademark on the name “Dawn Engine” in Europe.
Any information regarding the Dawn Engine is very vague, but speculations have led some to believe this may be a new engine to replace the Luminous Engine, while others believe it has relations to Eidos.
The only thing that could really be taken away from this is that it has some relation to “computer game software.”
As I mentioned earlier, this is all still very vague and appears to be in extreme early stages. Nothing will really be definitive until Square Enix makes any mention of it.
What is your take on the Dawn Engine? Could it very well be an engine to replace the Luminous Engine? Let’s not forget, Yoshihisa Hashimoto who was the Technical Director for the Luminous Engine left Square Enix earlier this year, so perhaps the two have some relation?
