On September 30, 2014, the remake for Pathologic has reached its first targeted goal for $250,000 USA dollars at KickStarter, but people who have visited Ice-Pick Lodge’s original dark Russian adventure do not intend to come back to the plague-infested town without a good reason. Now, fans and newcomers who missed the original game in 2005 will have a second chance to experience its grand weirdness and more. Here’s the teaser trailer for a sneak peek.
As a quick reminder, the horror/survival game focuses on three doctors who are searching for a cure to a town stricken by a deadly plague. To create this unique tale and bizarre setting, Ice-Pick Lodge will be using the collected $268,040 and more from the 30-Day campaign. Because some companies do not achieve its initial goal, the development team are fortunate and has sent a kind message to supporters. Here’s the original text:
“We don’t have fans. We have friends. A good friend is not necessarily someone who approves of every step you make—friends can and should be critical. But it’s also someone who’s always there when you need them. It’s not even about the money; money is important, of course, but it’s only a tool.”
Besides releasing this message, the developer has been providing on-going updates on a regular basis, including another reminder about their second stretch goal to extend the town if they acquire $300,000.
