Monster Hunter Spirits To Be An Amusement Card Game Machine In Japan

Capcom and Marvelous have joined together to begin a collaboration to bring more gamers to the Monster Hunter franchise.

This will come in  the form of Monster Hunter Spirits, an amusement card game machine, which will only be available in Japan, that is intended to make Monster Hunter more appealing to younger gamers in Japan.

Monster Hunter Spirits is still in development, but is set to be released sometime in Spring of 2015. So far, it is revealed that the fee to play Monster Hunter Spirits is going to be around the 100 yen mark.

Spirits is said to play in the same world view of the original Monster Hunter series, but this time around, players venture out to collect monster cards. Monster Hunter Spirits will be joining the many other experiments to try and draw the franchise into a larger audience.

No information regarding what types of cards will be in Spirits, though, this isn’t the first time Monster Hunter has been made into a card game. In 2008, Capcom released in Japan a trading card game which featured six different card types (Hunter, Otomo, Event, Quest, Target Monsters and Guild Monsters).

Despite it only having a Japanese release, Spirits seems like it could be a great addition to the franchise.
