One of the most dominant companies in the smartphone market, has got to be Samsung in the last few years.
Samsung has achieved much success in the past few years, and they haven’t exactly shied away from this as they continue to roll out new products that are priced higher and higher. Compared to HTC and Sony products, Samsung develops their products with polycarbonate materials, which still do not justify their increased prices that customers have grown used to. The newest phone OnePlus One is one phone that will probably be the one to put an end to the overpriced products that manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung have tried to push.
Display
CynaogenMod, who produces ROMs customs for Android devices, collaborated with a Chinese company manufactured the OnePlus One. People considered many low-quality products to be from China, however, for OnePlus One this is not the case. The phone offers a premium feel and has quality build. The prime aspect of the OnePlus One is a 5.5 brilliant display, which is full HD resolution uses LTPS LCD Technology with 400 ppi.
Memory
Like many smartphones in the market, OnePlus One provides different versions of storage space. Since OnePlus One is priced at a lower range than others in Samsung’s product line, the main version has storage capacity of 16GB, while also getting the second version with storage capacity of 64GB. The phone does not offer expandable storage options, which is as more as a disappointment.
OnePlus One provides an enriched connectivity in offering Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, and other Wi-Fi options. USB Host, USB on the go, and DLNA, as it runs Bluetooth on the latest 4.1 version.
Processor
What draws the users’ immediate attention is their screen. However, it is what lies beneath that is the best aspect. When dealing with less known companies producing smartphones they are able to reduce the price, because they implement poor processors. However, this is not the case with OnePlus One. Running on Snapdragon 801 Processor, it has speeds at 2.5 GHZ, running on a quad-core processor and the latest version of KitKat on the Android OS. This type of processors is found in most high-end devices such as Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5.
User Interface
CyanogenMod’s brilliant version provide a lot of customization in their stock like user experience, rather than the power consuming customization options on other Android smartphones. It will probably take a while before users are able fully to unlock all the potential customizations the phone has to offer. Which is a good thing! It runs on a 3100mAh battery, and provides a good battery life; that will price low for the 16GB, and for the 64GB version only $450.
