Google Nexus 5 Vs Asus Zenfone 6 Battery Life, Specs and Features compared

The last quarter of 2013 saw the release of some of the best smartphones that are in the market today. Asus came up with the Asus ZenFone 6 while Google released their flagship device for KitKat, The Google Nexus 5. If you were to go for one of these two smartphones, then this comparison will be of great help.

Design

Asus ZenFone 6 is a sleek smartphone measuring 6.57 by 3.32 by 0.39 inches whereas the Nexus is a little smaller at 5.43 x 2.72 by 0.34 inches. Given its larger size, the Asus is also heavier, weighing 66 grams more than Nexus 5’s 130 grams.

Display

A bigger body always means a larger screen, and this is why the Asus has a 6 inch screen compared to Nexus 5’s 5 inch IPS LCD screen. However, the Nexus’s screen has a better resolution and pixel density. ZenFone 6’s screen has a pixel density of 245 ppi with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

Hardware and Operating System

This is one area where these two devices differ. Asus chose to go with an Intel Atom chipset in this phone whose dual core processor is clocked at 2000 MHz. The Nexus on the other hand features a quad-core processor running at 2260 MHz. Despite this difference in processing power, both phones have 2 GB of RAM including 32 GB in-built storage. For gamers, the two smartphones have nice GPUs. Nexus 5 sports an Adreno 330 graphic processor while ZenFone 6 has a PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. To make use of this hardware, the Asus runs on android version 4.4 while Nexus 5 was initially released with the same version but went on to receive updates to version 4.4.2.

Camera

Both phones have excellent cameras for casual photographers. The Nexus 5 sports an 8 MP main camera while that of the Asus is 13 MP. They also have LED flashes. These two cameras also boast of a number of features such as autofocus, digital image stabilization and Geo tagging.

Battery

With a larger size comes greater need for power. This is why the Asus has a 3300 mAh battery, a whopping 1000 mAh more than that of the Nexus 5.

Verdict

Most of the features in these two phones are closely matched. However, the Nexus 5 is Google’s masterpiece and will for sure receive the next android version as soon as it is ready. This coupled with some of its impressive features makes it the ultimate choice.
