Interface and Functionality: Sony Xperia Z2 vs HTC One M8

The 2014 flagship of HTC which is the HTC One M8 was launched in March this year, while the Sony Xperia Z2 was released just recently as a successor of the Z1 which was a major hit in the market. While Sony struggled in the past to come up with a handset that would hit the world by storm and was able to come up with its current flagship, HTC on the other hand is continuously growing very fast in the smartphone arena and has built a reputation is a maker of the most high-end devices. With these great phones from two of today’s best manufacturers, which do you think is better? Here’s a comparison of the interface and functionality of the two:

Sony incorporated the KitKat Android OS on the Sony Xperia Z2 device, making it perfect for many smartphone users. The Z2 offers a plethora of advantages for its user just on the operating system alone and just to add a bit more of what’s to like, the company’s customary UI comes out clean and minimalist on this device with an elegant feel on the palms as well.

The Xperia Z2 uses a swipe feature to display the menu options from the left side. What’s different with this device from the Xperia Z1 is that this has the option of folders which can be found in the application launcher. On this launcher, the user can store important stuff in one place only and in one directory that is.

If anything, the challenge that users might find with HTC M8 is in choosing what to set as the primary or home screen but when it comes to interface and functionality, this phone cannot be taken for granted. Straight forward, modest, neat and sensible operation is what it offers to its user.

Figuring out which stands out between the two can be difficult because they both are equipped with the latest features and software but if a choice has to be made, the Sony Xperia Z2 seems slightly better that its rival with its incorporation of state of the art features and high-end spec sheet that brings it to the premium smartphone category. Of course, the HTC’s flagship isn’t far behind because of its epitome design and superior performance which raised the eyebrows of its rivals.
